Momos are very popular food among youngsters in India and other countries as well because of its amazing taste!

So let’s find out how to make finger-licking delicious and tasty momos yourself at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 bowl/150 gm all-purpose flour
  • medium-sized grated carrot
  • 1 small-sized grated cabbage
  • medium-sized chopped onion
  • 1 medium-sized chopped green onion
  • 10 cloves of garlic chopped
  • 3 green chilies chopped
  • 1/2 black pepper
  • salt as per taste
  • 3 tbsp oil

How To Make Momos step by step method

So first thing is to make the dough for our outer casing of momos. To make it take, all-purpose flour, 1/2 tbsp oil, 1/2 tsp salt and mix everything together.

Now knead (mix) the mixture we made with help of water. Start by taking some water in your palm and knead the dough.

Repeat the kneading process using cris and fold method until it becomes a single block of dough.

Now our dough is ready for making momos, Cover it with a bowl or any other thing like that and let it rest for 20 minutes.

As our dough is being ready we will now proceed to the next step which is to make the stuffing for our momos.

Stuffing for momos

To make the stuffing for momos take a pan and let it heat on a medium flame for some time. After that take 2 tbsp of oil and add it to the pan.

As the oil is heated up start adding chopped garlic, chopped green chili, and chopped onions for extra taste.

Saute this mixture for 2-3 minutes until the onions become golden brown.

As for the next step add all vegetables like carrot, cabbage to it.

We don’t have to cook them completely just saute it for some time so the extra water is drained.

Now add the spring onions, salt as per your taste and 1/2 tbsp of black pepper powder for more flavors and mix it well together.

In this recipe, we have only used basic vegetables which are easily available in the market but you can add capsicum and other vegetables if you wish.

Generally, momos are easily available in the market but if you cook them at home it would be a healthy option for them.

So, the stuffing must be ready now transfer it to another bowl from the pan and let it rest until it becomes cold enough to use.

After 20 minutes Our dough should be ready to use. Take some cooking oil in your palm and break the dough into two pieces.

Take one part of the dough and cover the other one using any cloth so it will not become dry.

Transform the first part of dough into a snake shape using your hands.

And divide this into small ball-shaped pieces. now take each of the piece and keep it between your palms.

After that make small chapatis from them as shown in the picture below.

Now take 1 tbsp of our stuffing and put it into the center of the chapati after that hold any two sides and stick them together using water.

Do the same process for the rest of the sides. You will Get round-shaped momos.

Steaming

To make our tasty momos take one large utensil and add 1 liter of water to it for the steaming process.

Take your momos and put them into a colander and put this colander into the utensil with boiling water.

And let them boil on high flame to make the boiling process fast.

let them boil for 15 minutes and your momos are ready to be served. You can enjoy the momos with schezwan sauce or any chutney you like!

TIP: You can also keep the momos to serve them later. Just Cook them 90% only and boil again when you want to serve them to your children or guests.
